Role: Automation Engineer
Location: Omaha, NE (Onsite – 5 Days a week)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled EMS Testing Automation Analyst with strong expertise in Python, automation frameworks, data analytics, and validation workflows. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable testing frameworks, automating validation pipelines, and ensuring high-quality, reliable releases for Energy Management System (EMS) applications, including Leader and Trip Optimizer.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for EMS applications, including Leader and Trip Optimizer.
Develop automated validation pipelines to reduce manual testing effort and improve release quality.
Create scripts and tools to validate train handling behavior, EMS outputs, and system performance.
Perform data analysis using Python and Excel to identify trends, issues, and process improvement opportunities.
Support root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for system and validation issues.
Ensure repeatable, scalable, and high-quality testing processes aligned with release requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical findings to both technical and business audiences.
Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance data quality.
Required Skills:
4 to 8 years of hands-on experience developing solutions in Python, with a strong focus on data analytics and automation.
Strong programming expertise in Python for automation, testing frameworks, and data analysis.
Experience designing and maintaining automated testing frameworks and validation pipelines.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments.
Preferred Skills:
Experience building dashboards and analytics using Tableau or similar BI tools.
Prior experience with PTC systems and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
Familiarity with Leader and Trip Optimizer.
Experience supporting end-to-end automation solutions from data ingestion to validation and reporting.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
The base salary for this position is $60,000 to $66,000 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies.
