Title: Principal Architect: GCP Cloud
Location: Remote in Canada
Role Summary: As the Principal Architect for GCP Cloud, you are a high-impact consultative leader and trusted advisor responsible for the foundational infrastructure and security platforms that enable our entire Google Cloud practice. Your mission is to design enterprise-grade environments—including Landing Zones, networking fabrics, and security perimeters—while acting as a key bridge between sales pursuits, technical solutioning, and successful delivery. You work closely with customers and channel partners to translate business requirements into resilient technical architectures, ensuring our AI, CX, and Integration solutions scale safely and effectively across the global enterprise.
Responsibilities
Consultative Solutioning & Sales Support: Partner with sales and account teams to lead technical discovery, provide high-level effort estimation, and design foundational cloud solutions that win complex, high-stakes enterprise pursuits.
Foundational Cloud Architecture & Delivery Oversight: Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade Landing Zones, VPC networking, and security perimeters (e.g., Private Service Connect), while providing technical governance and oversight during the delivery phase to ensure architectural integrity.
GCP Innovation Lab Leadership: Direct the operational strategy and governance of the internal Google Cloud sandbox; oversee the development of strategic accelerators, POCs, and reusable IP while managing platform security, cost optimization, and resource accessibility to facilitate high-impact experimentation across the practice.
Customer & Channel Technical Liaison: Serve as a strategic technical point of contact for both clients and Google’s channel/field teams, coordinating joint-pursuits and ensuring alignment with Google’s evolving infrastructure roadmap and "Private Preview" innovations.
Cross-Practice Infrastructure Advisory: Consult with the AI, CX, and API architects to ensure their specific workload requirements (e.g., specialized compute, low-latency audio processing) are optimized and governed within the core GCP environment.
Required Qualifications:
12+ years in technical architecture and consultative cloud infrastructure leadership
Expert-level fluency in GCP Infrastructure (GCE, GKE, Cloud Run), Networking, Security, and IAM
Proven experience in customer-facing roles, with the ability to influence CXO stakeholders and lead technical solutioning for complex sales cycles
Deep experience designing multi-region, compliant cloud foundations for global enterprises
Desired Qualifications:
Google Professional Cloud Architect and Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certifications
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automated landing zone deployments
Previous experience in a principal or lead architect role within a technology consultancy
The base salary range for this position is $137,837 - $216,601, plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies. Benefits available to eligible employees in this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, comprehensive employee assistance program, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off and holidays.
The majority of work is performed remotely, so travel is expected to be fairly low (<15%) - largely driven by conferences, client sales meetings, and an occasional client delivery meeting (ex: project kickoff).
